Mayliner Cruise Destination Guides

HI,

My name is May and I love cruising.

I have been cruising since 2004 and cruised the Mediterranean and Caribbean cruising to many, many ports including Nice, Barcelona, Marseilles, St Tropez, Rome, Lisbon, Oslo, Copenhagen, Tallin, St Petersburgh, Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Bahamas, Miami, Bordeaux

I know how overwhelming it can sometimes be visiting new ports so decided to write about my experiences with a view to making it easier for cruisers to get around.

I hope you enjoy these posts and welcome your feedback

But here we are, not rich in euros, but embarrassingly wealthy in memories of warm nights, chorizo-stained fingers, and feet that still remember the cobblestones of the Gothic Quarter. read more

Miami If you’ve booked a cruise from Miami, congratulations — you’re sailing from the Cruise Capital of the WorldBut here’s a little insider tip: Miami itself is basically a cruise port on land. Fort Lauderdale – So you’re sailing out of Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale? Lucky you!

But here’s the thing — Fort Lauderdale isn’t just the place where your cruise starts or ends. It’s the kind of city that’s too fun to skip. I always tell friends: arrive a day early (flight delays happen), or linger after your ship docks (because who really wants vacation to end?). Continue reading for more cruise tips on dining, staying and attractions. read more

Barbados – So, your cruise either begins or ends in Barbados—lucky you! Honestly, I’d suggest extending your stay because this little Caribbean gem is far too fabulous to just wave at from the ship’s deck. Whether you’re squeezing in one night before embarkation or a few days after docking, here’s my very personal, slightly cheeky guide to making the most of Barbados. read more
